Saudi Arabia, spearheading a coalition of nine Arab states, began carrying out airstrikes in neighbouring Yemen on 25 March 2015, heralding the start of a military intervention codenamed Operation Decisive Storm. The intervention began in response to requests for assistance from the internationally recognized but domestically contested Yemeni government of President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi. The request was due to a Houthi offensive aimed at its provisional capital of Aden. President Hadi fled Aden, left the country and went to Saudi Arabia as Saudi Arabia and its allies launched airstrikes in Yemen against the Houthis and forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who was deposed in the 2011 Arab Spring uprisings.
Fighter jets from Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain are also taking part in the operation. Somalia has made its airspace, territorial waters and military bases available for the coalition to use. The United States has provided intelligence and logistical support, including search-and-rescue for downed coalition pilots. It also accelerated the sale of weapons to coalition states. Additionally, Pakistan was called on by Saudi Arabia to join the coalition, but its parliament voted to maintain neutrality. Despite this, Pakistan agreed to provide warships to help the coalition enforce an arms embargo against the Houthis.

Yemen has been in turmoil for half a decade with wars, revolutions, and now a coup. In a move that they are saying is meant to stabilize the region, Saudi Arabia and its regional allies have launched air strikes against Houthi rebels ahead of a suspected push into the country with troops on the ground. A spokesperson for Saudi Arabia told the press that the purpose of military intervention is to protect the democratically elected president who has found asylum in Saudi Arabia.
The U.S. and E.U. have stated that they have no interest in being involved in a military solution for Yemen at this time. Several officials in the U.S. are a little upset by this, calling President Obama an 'Anti-war' president."

Saudi Arabia launches airstrikes in Yemen against Houthi rebels Saudi Arabia launches airstrikes against Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen
A coalition led by Saudi Arabia has launched air strikes against Shia-led Houthi rebels in Yemen, saying it is "defending the legitimate government" of President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi. Saudi jets targeted Houthi positions in the capital Sanaa overnight, along with missile batteries and warplanes. Mr Hadi fled to an undisclosed location after rebel forces neared his refuge in the southern city of Aden on Wednesday.
A Houthi official warned the coalition that it risked provoking a wider war. Shia power Iran, which Sunni-ruled Saudi Arabia accuses of backing the rebels, also demanded an immediate halt to the strikes, which it said violated Yemen's sovereignty. "We will make all efforts to control [the] crisis in Yemen," Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said, according to the Isna news agency. A conflict that pulls in regional powers could disrupt global oil supplies, and the price of Brent crude rose almost 6% after the strikes began.

However, Saudi Arabia says it will continue to target the Houthis if they are spotted undertaking any operations.
Saudi military spokesman Brigadier General Ahmad Asiri said: "The main goals of the operation have been achieved as well as the objectives on the ground.

Saudi Arabian officials believe Russia’s airstrikes will lead to “dangerous consequences” that could inspire militants around the world to join in the escalating sectarian war. Claims have been emerging that Russia’s continued airstrikes haven’t been hitting the ISIS strongholds but rather rebel groups opposed to Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad. Margaret J. Howell and Jose Marcelino Ortiz examine the claims on The Lip News.

Saudi Arabia launched a military operation on Thursday night to counter the encroachment of Houthi rebel forces on Aden, the city in southern Yemen where U.S.-backed Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi has taken refuge since February.
Riyadh is contributing around 100 fighter jets and 150,000 soldiers to the operation.
Six other countries in the Middle East are contributing fighter jets, while Egypt, Pakistan, Jordan and Sudan are taking part in a ground offensive in Yemen.
Airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, have hit the city’s international airport, Sanaa’s al Dulaimi military airbase and the presidential government complex. Reports citing Yemeni security forces say that Houthi arsenals and four Sukhoi fighter jets were destroyed during Thursday’s military operation.
Iranian-backed Houthi rebel forces have taken control of large swathes territory in western Yemen. The rebels seized parts of Sanaa last September and captured the city’s presidential palace in January.
This week’s airstrikes have affected global oil prices as Arab oil tankers must pass through Yemen’s Gulf of Aden to get to the Suez Canal and Europe.
According to Reuters, a senior Houthi leader said that the Saudi operation amounts to aggression against Yemen and warned that Thursday’s airstrikes would set off a “wide war” in the region.

Saudi Arabi has started airstrikes against rebel forces attempting to take over the small middle eastern country of Yemen. This has been called 'Storm of Resolve', and starts what many are seeing as a proxy war between the rebels and Yemen forces. There is no overwhelming evidence that this is taking place yet there still seems to be guns and ammo coming in from somewhere.
This conflict threatens to pull in Iran, Iraq and others as the conflict escalates."
What can we expect from this boiling situation in Yemen? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.

The Saudi Arabia-led coalition carrying out attacks against the Houthis in Yemen has failed to investigate its apparently unlawful airstrikes that have killed hundreds of civilians. The United States is also obligated to investigate attacks in which it played a role that allegedly violated the laws of war.
Human Rights Watch examines in detail 10 apparently unlawful coalition airstrikes that killed at least 309 civilians and wounded more than 414 between April and August 2015. According to the United Nations, most of the 2,600 civilian deaths since the coalition began its military campaign against the Houthis in late March have been from coalition airstrikes. Human Rights Watch is unaware of any investigations by Saudi Arabia, other coalition members, or the US into these or other allegedly unlawful strikes, or of any compensation for victims or their families.

Yemen’s Ansarullah fighters are gaining more ground in the southern city of Aden, despite the Saudi-led airstrikes which Riyadh says are aimed at halting their advance.
The fighters, known as Houthis, have advanced into the districts of Mualla and Qalwa'a in Aden. They’ve been engaged in fierce clashes with al-Qaeda militants and remnants of fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi over the past two weeks. In their latest battles, the Houthis have taken off the air an Aden TV station loyal to Hadi. Ansarullah fighters are struggling to secure the city amid Saudi operations to hamper their efforts. On Saturday and Sunday, Riyadh airdropped arms for groups fighting the Houthis in Aden. The city is one of the footholds of the remnants of Hadi regime.

Living in Riyadh: Overview
Don't let the descent fool you. Flying across the Najd desert plateau, one would be forgiven for wondering, why here? The climate is dry, and dust storms can kick up a blinding fit. Closer in, however, and you'll soon see date palms and shrubs spotting the landscape. The name Riyadh, in fact, comes from the Arabic for gardens (rowdah), and lies atop an area where several underground riverbeds co

The Republic Of Yemen: there is almost no other country on Earth that possesses as many secrets and ancient legends as the Arabia Felix and the Bab Al Yemen, the gateway to the Yemen, is the entrance to the historic district of Sanaa, the Yemen’s capital city that it is believed to date back to the third century A.D. Women are rarely to be seen in Yemen’s marketplaces and, when they are, they are hidden from male glances by a protective veil. Islam still plays an important role in the daily cultural life of the people, including the traditional market places that are almost exclusively a male domain. The Republic Of Yemen covers a large part of the southwest of the Arabian Peninsula and contains several fascinating historical sites. East of Sanaa on the ancient Frankincense route, is the town of Marib that was once the residence of the legendary Queen Of Saba and in the extreme north is the town of Sadah, a region known for its powerful tribes. In the centre of the Djebel Harraz is the picturesque mountain village of Manakhah. Due to its location it was once a strategic point on the ancient trading route between the sea and the highlands. The breathtaking architecture of its buildings still testifies to the former prosperity of a village that today is well known for its popular market. Al Hudaydah was once the most important Turkish harbour on the Red Sea. The city was a commercial rival of the British occupied city of Aden to the south which, during colonial times, was of great importance in securing a sea route to India. In addition to the recent modernisation of the harbour the fishing industry still plays an important role and the fertile coastal waters of the Red Sea still ensure a good catch. To the south of Al Hudaydah is the legendary old harbour of Al Mokha, the former centre of the country’s coffee trade from which the world renowned Mocha coffee derived its name. Despite their present poverty the people here are a proud race and the ancient name of the Yemen, Arabia Felix, or “Arabia The Content”, is still a thing of the present.

Come to Dubai, the ancient City of Gold, for your next vacation.
Modernity and antiquity collide in this vibrant city. Shop at the same spice market locals have been visiting for generations, then visit the stores in the Gold Souk, a jewelry-centered traditional marketplace. For a more modern shopping experience, go to the Dubai Mall, home to over 1200 stores, an underwater zoo, and KidZania®, a “city” where children can roleplay various careers.
To soak up some of the legendary Dubai sunshine, simply step outside. Take in the view of the city from the observation deck of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Continue your Dubai tour by wandering through the exotic buildings and resorts, or visit some of the public beaches. If you’d like to try something a little different and don’t mind paying a small fee, you can also attend local hotel beaches even if you aren’t staying there.
You can’t finish your Dubai sightseeing without a trip into the desert itself. Ride a camel, go sandboarding, or just stand out on the dunes and marvel at the beauty of it all.

Quantum Method Realization Course
All of us would like to become Superman, or Insan-E-Kamel. We would like to transform suffering into joy, disease into health, and scarcity into prosperity.
But very few of us know the natural law for creating spontaneous torrents of joy or creating a truly prosperous life.
We want to be one with God, Allah, the Creator, or the Universal Life Force and surrender to Him. We want to pray, worship, or ibadat with devotion but we cannot.
Yet throughout history, there have been prophets, rishis, sufis, monks and holy-men who were indeed supermen. They found the secret to ending suffering and creating lasting joy. With them, those suffering found relief, those lacking found prosperity, and those diseased found health. Often, pain evaporated with a single touch of their hands.
The superhuman-like power of rishis and bujuhurgs was attained through a long strenuous process of spiritual pursuit. By surrendering to this process, they transformed every prayer into a union with God, and felt God deep within their own existence.
You too can progress on this path. Like them, you can attain the power to heal, have insights and extrasensory powers. Your prayer can become a union with God, and you can feel the presence of God within your existence. And you do not need to leave your family and job or live in seclusion to do this. Some regular practices or amal will help you progress along this path even while you continue to function fully in the material world.
The Quantum Method Realization Course: (also known as the Masters or Higher Course) will open the doors to this immense possibility.
Special Dimensions of Realization
Preparation for Participating in the Realization Course
• Participating in Quantum Method Course Rejuvenation at least twice.
• Completing three series of Quantaions. Three days of Quantaion in Lama will be considered equal to 2 series.
• Completing the Quantum Healing & Psyche Course. Prothomaion Course and Quantum Student Course (if you are a student).
• Practicing Quantum Yoga on a regular basis. This exercise prepares the body and mind for spiritual pursuit.
• Participating in the Quantum Healing Program.
• Participating in the Sadakion (weekly group meditation) in the centres, branches and cells, and making sincere efforts to attend workshops and other graduate programs including Alokaion (Self Empowerment Program).
• Participating in Progga Jalali.
• Participating in the Monthly Graduate Program.
• Meditating twice everyday on a regular basis.
• Donating to Quantum Charity Bank.
If you have completed the required preparations, you can apply for in the Realization Course by filling out the required form and submitting it to the centre, branch, or cell nearest to you. Participants are selected one month prior to the course. You will be informed about the next steps once you are selected.

Don't let the descent fool you. Flying across the Najd desert plateau, one would be forgiven for wondering, why here? The climate is dry, and dust storms can kick up a blinding fit. Closer in, however, and you'll soon see date palms and shrubs spotting the landscape. The name Riyadh, in fact, comes from the Arabic for gardens (rowdah), and lies atop an area where several underground riverbeds converge, resulting in a natural oasis that has long drawn traders and nomads alike. In much the same vein, expat life in Riyadh can sometimes be judged too soon and too bluntly. Although it's true that most foreigners are grounded in compound existence, this is still a city of over five million inhabitants, with all the complexity that that implies. From gold markets to desert camping to luxury like you've never seen it, Riyadh's got plenty to discover. Let Move One's video be your first step in your journey to ar-Riyadh.

wn.com/Living In Riyadh Overview

BEIRUT — Iran on Thursday accused Saudi Arabia of waging airstrikes on the Iranian Embassy in Yemen’s war-battered capital, a claim that could not be immediately verified but reflected the deepening tensions between the regional powers.
The Associated Press reported there was no visible damage at the embassy compound in Sanaa, which is held by rebel fighters who have faced more than nine months of airstrikes from a Saudi-led military coalition.
Iran gave no immediate details on its claim, which was carried by state-run media.
Ahmed Asseri, a Saudi spokesman for the military alliance, promised to investigate the Iranian accusations but noted there was “no proof yet.”
Yet it is certain to add fuel to the most serious fallout between the two nations in decades.
It comes amid growing diplomatic confrontations between Shiite power Iran and Saudi Arabia and its Sunni allies that threaten to widen sectarian rifts around the region. Such divides could undercut key efforts such as peace bids in Syria and the fight against the Islamic State.
“Saudi Arabia is responsible for the damage to the embassy building and the injury to some of its staff,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossein Jaber Ansari was quoted as saying by state television news channel IRIB.
In Yemen, a Saudi-led military coalition has battled rebel factions that Saudi Arabia claims are aided by Iran. Officials in Iran deny direct links to the rebels but have strongly denounced the Saudi-directed airstrikes and other attacks in Yemen.
Saudi Arabia broke off diplomatic ties with Iran this week after Iranian mobs attacked Saudi diplomatic compounds. The protests were in response to Saudi Arabia’s execution of a prominent Shiite cleric Saturday.
Asseri, the military spokesman, said authorities “will go through all the necessary procedures to see whether this is true or not.
“So far, we see this as only an accusation,” he added.

Saudi Arabia is pressing ahead with its deadly offensive against Yemen in violation of last week’s UN-brokered ceasefire.
The latest airstrikes targeted Tuhayta region in Hudaydah province. At least two civilians were killed in the attack. Earlier, three people were killed and several others were critically injured after Saudi fighter jets targeted a house in Sa’ada province. The attacks follow the UN special envoy for Yemen’s warning about the fragility of the ongoing peace process between the Yemeni warring sides in Switzerland. Over 7300 people mostly women and children have been killed in Saudi attacks since late March.

Democracynow.org - United Nations-brokered peace talks in Yemen’s nine-month-old civil war are faltering, amid disputes between rival factions over the release of prisoners. Meanwhile, local officials have reported intensifying clashes and renewed airstrikes despite an ongoing ceasefire. Over the weekend, U.S.-backed, Saudi-led airstrikes killed 19 Yemeni civilians in their homes and at a market. About half of the nearly 6,000 people killed in Yemen’s conflict are civilians, including more than 600 children. Rima Kamal of the International Committee for the Red Cross in Yemen warned of a deepening humanitarian crisis. The United States has bolstered the Saudi-led coalition’s airstrikes in Yemen through arms sales and direct military support. Saudi Arabia is one of the U.S. arms industry’s biggest customers. Last month, the State Department approved a billion-dollar deal to restock Saudi Arabia’s air force arsenal, which was depleted by its bombing campaign in Yemen. The sale included thousands of air-to-ground munitions and "general purpose" bombs. The United States and other countries have also reportedly sold internationally banned cluster munitions to Saudi Arabia that are now being used in Yemen. We speak with reporter Sharif Abdel Kouddous, who has just returned from Yemen. His recent piece for GlobalPost is "With US help, Saudi Arabia is obliterating Yemen."

Saudi Arabia-led coalition forces have carried out a series of air strikes targeting schools that were still in use, in violation of international humanitarian law, and hampering access to education for thousands of Yemen’s children, said Amnesty International in a new briefing published today. The coalition forces are armed by states including the USA and UK.
The briefing ‘Our kids are bombed’: Schools under attack in Yemen, investigates five air strikes on schools which took place between August and October 2015 killing five civilians and injuring at least 14, including four children, based on field research in Yemen. While students were not present inside the schools during the attacks, the strikes caused serious damage or destruction which will have long-term consequences for students.
“The Saudi Arabia-led coalition launched a series of unlawful air strikes on schools being used for educational – not for military – purposes, a flagrant violation of the laws of war,” said Lama Fakih, Senior Crisis Advisor at Amnesty International who recently returned from Yemen.
“Schools are central to civilian life, they are meant to offer a safe space for children. Yemen’s young school pupils are being forced to pay the price for these attacks. On top of enduring a bitter conflict, they face longer term upheaval and disruption to their education – a potentially lifelong burden that they will be forced to shoulder.”
In some cases the schools were struck more than once, suggesting the strikes were deliberately targeted.

Saudi Arabia has violated the latest ceasefire in war-torn Yemen just minutes after its commencement in the impoverished Arab country.
Meanwhile, the United Nations special envoy to Yemen has called for respecting a five-day ceasefire in Yemen in a bid to boost the delivery of sorely-needed aid.

Yemen crisis: A local conflict? - Full Episode
Saudi Arabia and its Gulf Arab allies began a military operation in Yemen, which sits on a key shipping passage between Europe and the Arab Gulf. The air strikes against outhi rebels, who have driven the president from Yemen's capital Sanaa, could stoke concerns about the security of Middle East oil shipments if the conflict widens. The Saudi-led military intervention so far involves only air stri

Riyadh Yaseen: 'Bombing despite civilian casualties'
The people of Yemen were already among the world's poorest when a Saudi-led bombing campaign began in March to end a rebellion on Saudi borders by Houthi fighters.
As air strikes and ground battles continue to rage across Yemen, Yemenis have been further impoverished and many civilians as well as Houthis were killed.

A Simple Question: US backing Saudi Arabia bombing of Yemen
Saudi Arabia has begun a series of air strikes on Yemeni people using jets sold by the US, with many saying the Arab kingdom is serving as a puppet for the United States and the Israeli regime.
Many are describing Saudi Arabia’s deadly attacks targeting Yemeni people in the capital, Sana’a, as unjustified, illegal and barbaric.
The long established theory is that the US and Israel have been planni

It’s been a crisis in the making and simmering for years, escalating in months into armed conflict, and leading to regional intervention in a matter of days.
Yemen's president had barely appealed for military assistance to halt the advance of Houthi fighters when Saudi Arabia responded by launching air strikes against the group.
The Houthis have long been pressing for greater autonomy and political rights but were widely condemned when they staged a coup in January.
Commenting on the military intervention, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the US, Adel al-Jubeir, said: "We will do whatever it takes in order to protect the legitimate government of Yemen from falling and from facing any dangers from an outside militia."
Saudi Arabia is co-ordinating a coalition of 10 nations, including Gulf states Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Kuwait, along with allies Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Pakistan and Sudan.
The US is providing intelligence and logistical support.
Iran, which has been backing the Houthi rebels, called the air strikes an "invasion" and a "dangerous step" that will worsen the crisis.
Could this military intervention pave the way for a ground offensive?
Or can the UN seize the opportunity to encourage Yemen’s warring sides back to the negotiating table?

Saudi Arabia has launched devastating airstrikes against this impoverished nation, mostly affecting civilians. How much oil and how much money does it take for the west to look the other way and for how long will silence be the norm while Riyadh tries to wreak havoc and mayhem in Yemen?

Saudi Arabia launched its airstrikes against Yemen on March 26 without a United Nations mandate. Riyadh aims to undermine the Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, who is a staunch ally of Riyadh.
The regime’s warplanes have repeatedly targeted residential areas across the country.
On April 21, Riyadh announced the end of the first phase of its unlawful military operations, which claimed the lives of about 1,000 people; but airstrikes have continued with Saudi bombers targeting different areas across the country in a new phase.
Official Yemeni reports say nearly 250 women and children have been killed so far.
Meanwhile, the United Nations chief Ban Ki-moon has warned that a dire shortage of fuel in Yemen may bring all relief operations to a halt as more and more people fall victim to Saudi Arabia’s indiscriminate air attacks on the country.
In this edition of Comment, we ask: How should Saudi Arabia be punished for killing Yemeni children?

Crowds are due to gather in Sanaa on Friday, May 1, in protest against Saudi-led airstrikes in Yemen. Yemen descended into open conflict between several key groups in recent months, pushing the nation to the precipice of full-scale warfare. Even though Saudi Arabia announced the end of its initial bombing campaign in Yemen, dubbed "Decisive Storm," last week, to be replaced by a more limited mission called "Renewal of Hope.", it has been anything but a ceasefire, but rather an increase in the US backed bombing aerial campaign. This, as the former UN envoy, Jamal Benomar, who mediated Yemen’s peace talks, says the warring parties were on the verge of a power-sharing deal just before Saudi Arabia launched its airstrikes. Russian President Vladimir Putin is infuriated that Turkey illegally struck down one of Russia's planes. But even more concerning is that Turkey has been buying oil smuggled from Daesh.
This development must be assessed with the backdrop of knowing that Russian airstrikes against Takfiri positions in Syria had resulted in a swift decline in oil sales by the terrorist group, according to a French official. Daesh-controlled oil sales “have declined significantly in recent weeks due to the Russian campaign in Syria,” Russia's Sputnik quoted a French National Assembly Defense Commission member, Nicolas Dhuicq, as saying in October.
Apart from selling crude oil, the group is also believed to be paying people to refine oil at its own sites with the majority of the terrorist group’s oil revenue being from countries such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar. Observers say ISIL is chiefly funded by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, which are trying to gain back their share of influence in the regions of Iraq and Syria against Iran.

US President Barack Obama has offered his condolences to the United Arab Emirates over the deaths of its 45 soldiers killed in Yemen. The White House says Obama expressed his “deep condolences” in a phone call to Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme UAE Armed Forces Commander Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed al-Nahyan. The statement also added that “The thoughts and prayers of the American people are with the people of the UAE and with the families of the fallen.”
The 45 soldiers were killed when Ansarullah fighters and their allied army units fired a missile at an arms depot at a military base in Yemen’s eastern province of Marib. The retaliatory raids in Ma’rib, 250 kilometer east of the capital Sana'a, also killed ten Saudi and five Bahrain soldiers. A spokesman for the Yemeni army said the number of Emirati troops killed in the raids goes beyond 75, contradicting the UAE's official figure of 45.
Obama offered condolences as Saudi Arabian airstrikes have killed 4,500 people in Yemen since the kingdom launched its military aggression against the country on March 26 without a UN mandate. Saudi Arabia intends to undermine Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to the country’s fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.
The raid took place on the same day that Saudi King Salman met Obama in Washington, with Yemen high on the agenda. Obama says that the US is concerned about Yemen and the need to restore a functioning government that is inclusive and can relieve the humanitarian situation there. It is not clear what type of government Obama wants in Yemen.

In this edition of Comment, we ask: How much is the UN to blame for Yemen's humanitarian crisis?
Saudi Arabia has violated the latest ceasefire in war-torn Yemen just minutes after its commencement in the impoverished Arab country.
Meanwhile, the United Nations special envoy to Yemen has called for respecting a five-day ceasefire in Yemen in a bid to boost the delivery of sorely-needed aid.
Saudi Arabia started its military aggression against Yemen on March 26 - without a UN mandate - in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement, which currently controls the capital, Sana’a, and other major provinces, and to restore power to the country's fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who is a staunch ally of Riyadh.
Meanwhile, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization recently warned of a “catastrophic” humanitarian situation in Yemen, saying more than 15 million Yemenis are suffering from food insecurity in the wake of the Saudi airstrikes.
According to the latest UN figures, the Saudi military campaign has so far claimed the lives of over 1,400 people and injured close to 6,000 others, roughly half of them civilians.

The Saudi-led military intervention so far involves only air strikes, but a ground assault may follow. The code name for the action is Operation Decisive Storm. The US position becomes even more convoluted. Washington had sought to portray its campaign in Yemen against al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) as a success. Drone attacks were supposedly wiping out important AQAP operatives, but the humiliating end result of America's covert war in Yemen came last week when US Special Operations personnel blew up their heavy equipment and fled the country for the US base at Djibouti. AQAP is becoming a stronger force as the shock troops of the Sunni. US policy across the Middle East looks contradictory. It is supporting Sunni powers and opposing Iranian allies in Yemen but doing the reverse in Iraq. Iran dispatched a naval destroyer and another logistic vessel to waters near Yemen as the United States quickened weapons supply to the Saudi-led coalition striking rebels there, underlining how foreign powers are deepening their involvement in the conflict. Iran's English-language state broadcaster Press TV quoted Rear Adm. Habibollah Sayyari as saying the ships would be part of an anti-piracy campaign "safeguarding naval routes for vessels in the region."

The internationally-recognised government led by Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi has been forced out of the country. The president found sanctuary in Saudi Arabia, while his predecessor Ali Abdullah Saleh remained in the country - accused by Hadi of encouraging the Houthi rebellion.
"Ali Abdullah Saleh was in alliance and agreement with the Houthis. Whenever they arrive to a new place, he allows them to get control.... It was a major and big mistake to allow him [Saleh] to stay in Yemen, to be part of the Gulf innitiative," says Riyadh Yaseen, Yemen's foreign minister.
The United Nations has imposed sanctions aimed at hurting the insurgents, but innocent civilians are now more frequently without the food they need and the wounded are struggling for medical help.
From Saudi Arabia, Hadi has sent his fellow exiled Foreign Minister Riyadh Yaseen to encourage international support for efforts to end the Houthi rebellion and to ask for financial help with rebuilding his country.
The Yemeni foreign minister sat down with Talk to Al Jazeera to discuss where it went wrong for Yemen, the challenges facing his country, and who is to blame for killing civilians caught in the crossfire.

Oil futures jumped more than 6% on Thursday following the start of Saudi Arabian airstrikes in Yemen in an effort to defend Yemen’s existing government against Iranian-backed Houthi rebels, who have driven the Yemenite president from the capital of Sanaa. However, the military operation against Yemen hasn’t yet affected the oil facilities of other major Gulf producers. Fears that the conflict could spread stoked concerns about Middle East oil shipments, which caused oil prices to rally for a second straight day Thursday. Erin weighs in.
Then, Erin sits down with Gerald Celente – author and publisher of the Trends Journal. Gerald tells us what geopolitical effects the airstrikes will cause and gives us his take on the protests that followed the new ECB building in Germany. He also speaks somewhat negatively about the prospects for the European economy and Greece’s ability to prevent more austerity to come.
After the break, Erin is joined by Richard Wolff – visiting professor of international affairs at The New School and expert in Marxist economics. Richard tells us what he expects to happen if and when the Fed raises rates and also gives us his different takeaways from what’s going on in Europe.
And in The Big Deal, Erin, Edward, and Bianca go over viewer comments posted on social media.

The long established theory is that the US and Israel have been planning to break up the chaotic country and deprive people of security and freedom in order to minimise the chance for people to unite and challenge the West.
It does appear that the Saudi air invasion of Yemen has uncannily followed similar attempts by terrorist groups such as al-Qaeda and ISIL, both of which have targeted dissidents of Saudi hegemony and also targeted opponents of the former Yemeni president.
Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is attacking Ansarullah positions, Saudi warplanes have flattened a number of homes near Sana’a airport and have now killed scores and scores of innocent civilians.
Western countries, such as the US, who claim to despise dictatorships, are strong allies with arguably one of the most prolific dictatorships in the world: Saudi Arabia. Right now, the alliance is in full swing as one of the first countries to openly declare support for Saudi Arabia’s invasion and bombing of another country was the United States.
